Well...technically it's not Christmas here yet...but it is somewhere in the world! :)I love not having to think about what I have to do next, i get to relax, look at the 11 foot Christmas tree and watch the snow come down. There's not much more you could ask for! Last night we got about 5 inches of snow, but we got sleet before that so a lot of Christmas Eve services were canceled (come on ppl this is MN....5 inches?lol) I asked our music director yesterday if he wanted me to sing for the service since I was going to be home. He's like yup! So today I got to sing on our wonderful stage with just a guitar, piano, and 2 other voices! It was SO awesome! I think it's one of the best times i've sung! There was one song where we did 3 part harmony. MAN! it sounded SO good!I had so much fun:)
Something Pastor Matthew said today that I had never thought of is: usually when I read Luke 1 i pass over Mary's song. What Matthew said was that this is a girl who is probably only 13 or 14 years old and what she says is amazing!
My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
This is after she finds out she is pregnant, which since she is not married yet, she could get stoned to death. This is also after Elizabeth thanked Mary for coming to see her!
After coming from church we kind of just lounged around the houes which was really nice! We ate some pizza and had some coke (tomorrow is the big dinner:). Then we played Clue as a family....and you would never guess who won. YOURS TRULY!! It was a very nice way to end the game:) Now I am again sitting by the tree watching the snow fall, the cat sleeping on my legs, no hot coco though...and the fire will be on tomorrow! Merry CHRISTmas and God Bless you all!
